CTI Selected to Provide Training Support at Fort Sill SFC Jared C. Monti Hall Mission Simulation Center
February 7, 2012. Los Angeles, Calif. – Creative Technologies Inc. announced today that it has been selected by the U.S. Army Fires Center of Excellence (FCoE) and Fort Sill to provide training support and maintenance for the Engagement Control Station Simulator at Monti Hall, Fort Sill, OK. The contract calls for CTI to support various Patriot programs of instruction for officers and enlisted personnel on a one-of-a-kind simulator that CTI relocated to the Monti Hall Mission Simulation Center in the summer of 2011.
CTI’s program includes supporting educational end states that will provide Patriot Students with contextual knowledge on the strategic and operational level along with the tactical employment of their systems. The effort also includes a sustainment element which provides for maintaining the simulator by troubleshooting, repairing and replacing simulator parts and software to ensure its continued availability for training.
“CTI is honored to continue providing innovative solutions and skilled technicians that contribute to training and educating our Nation’s Air Defense Artillery Soldiers,” stated CTI’s chief executive officer, James Korris. “As Fires Center of Excellence partners, we never forget the sacrifice our Soldiers make every day; our goal is to provide superior training and services that enable them to achieve their missions successfully.”
CTI Completes Improvements and Relocation of Training Modules at Ft. Sill’s SFC Jared C. Monti Hall Mission Simulation Center
January 6, 2012. Hollywood, Calif. and Fort Sill, Okla.–Creative Technologies Inc. recently completed an equipment upgrade and relocation of training simulations and simulators in support of the U.S. Army Fires Center of Excellence (FCoE), the Field Artillery (FA) School, and the Air Defense Artillery School (ADA), Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The project further enhanced Army training capabilities; the module relocation was completed in time for the opening of the SFC Jared C. Monti Hall Mission Simulation Center. The Joint Fires Effects Training System (JFETS) immersive modules, along with the ADA’s Engagement Control Station Simulation (ECS2) are cornerstones of the new FCoE Simulation Center. This move included the Close Air Support Module (CASM), the Urban Terrain Module (UTM) and the Adaptive Full Spectrum Module (AFSM).
The addition of the of the Call for Fire Trainer – Augmented Virtuality (CFFT-AV) “cube”, also delivered in time for the opening of Monti Hall, provides Soldiers realistic training incorporating real-world objects into a virtual environment to offer state-of-the-art, full spectrum supporting arms training solutions to warfighters at the center.
The work on the simulation modules involved dozens of skilled technicians, craftspeople and artists to provide truly immersive training environments. CTI President James Korris said about the project, “We were excited to reconstitute the original team that developed the JFETS immersive modules to modify and improve them for this new, permanent installation. I am deeply grateful for everyone’s contribution.”
As part of the work, the Air Defense Artillery’s ECS2 was reconceived and designed to accept updating simulation hardware to enable a truly relevant learning aid. “This challengewas to go from mobilization to public demonstration in only 11 weeks,” said Korris. “This was a daunting task when one considers the number of computers, large format displays and literally miles of cabling required.”
“We wouldn’t have completed this project so successfully without the superb support and close working relationship we enjoy with the entire Fires Center of Excellence team,” said Korris. “CTI deeply values that relationship and we look forward to helping make the SFC Jared C. Monti Hall Simulation Center a jewel in the crown of U.S. joint training capabilities.”
CTI To Develop Serious Games for IARPA
November 29, 2011. Los Angeles, Calif. Creative Technologies, Inc., was selected by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA), as part of the SET/Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) team, to produce an experimental training game. The game will be designed to train participants and measure their proficiency in recognizing and mitigating cognitive biases that commonly affect intelligence analysis. The program will provide a basis for experimental repeatability and independent validation of effects, and identify critical elements of design for effective analytic training in Serious Games. The cognitive biases of interest that will be examined include: (1) Confirmation Bias, (2) Fundamental Attribution Error, (3) Bias Blind Spot, (4) Anchoring Bias, (5) Representativeness Bias, and (6) Projection Bias.
Cognitive bias is a common occurrence in the field of analyses for a number of professions. Overcoming personal bias can be challenging, but current research shows that through awareness and training, some of these biases can, in fact, be mitigated. CTI’s expertise as part of the SET/SAIC team, will deliver compelling simulations for training intelligence professionals in overcoming bias.
