A US Army Future Combat Systems Brigade Combat Team supports civilian authorities in disaster relief. Aftershock shows how the Army’s Future Combat Systems (FCS) might be used to support civilian authorities and first responders in a domestic crisis situation. Through the use of unmanned air and ground systems, networked logistics and communications infrastructure, the Army assists in everything from crisis management, to firefighting and search and rescue. But it is the courage and determination of the American soldier enabled by FCS technology that literally saves the day. Shot on location in California and at the Boeing C-17 manufacturing facility in Long Beach California, this video was made at the request of Chief of Staff of the Army, GEN Peter Schoomaker and was conceived, shot and delivered in sixty days. It was made with the support of the FCS One Team partners, PEO Soldier, and the California Army National Guard, 40th Mechanized Infantry Division.
